There's fierce competition among builders of custom speaker enclosures, and I’m adding to it. I’ve been designing and building custom cabinets since the 70’s and have had good success selling plans for enclosures and building rock solid, beautiful sounding, earth shaking extension speaker cabinets. The stuff I build isn’t for kids. This is working class material, and I plan to keep getting bigger and better.
Boutique
Bulldog Engineering does boutique enclosures. Boutique means that we offer specialized products and services. The enclosure you're looking at is an experimental cabinet that is made of 3/4" solid maple. It is wrapped in alligator/crocodile red vinyl and is loaded with a 15" Eminence driver. I know it is sort of a shame to cover hardwood, and if it was birdseye, flame, or quilted maple I would not have done it, but I wanted a stage look with hardwood tone and I got it with this one. here are a couple of short Youtube vids of this cab to hear it for yourself http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGNoMYTa6MM and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NamfZJGXwGI. By the way, John Mayer uses hardwood speaker cabinets and it's becoming increasingly popular. We also build with oak, mahogany, pine, and hardwood ply, and we also build to your specifications.
